8 Apps You Can Install On Your Phone to Make $50+ a Week

Sometimes you just need a little extra money. If you have a smartphone here are 8 apps you can download today that can help make you $25 or more per week. I have rated these based upon my own personal experience with each/ease of use. Some are more passive than others, and there is far more to be made with most of these apps than just $25.

1. Swagbucks- by following this guide you can easily make $7 a week. Much more can be made on this site, including cash back on online purchases, watching videos, doing surveys and more. Giftcards available as low as $2. Only one phone can be used per account, but multiple devices allowed per household Check out my guide for more information.



2. Slidejoy puts ads on your swipe screen. On average it nets .15-20 cents a day meaning a possible 1.40/week Lowest payout is 100 points, but points are only redeemable the month after they are earned, so points earned in January are available in February.


3. Microsoft Rewards-do searches on mobile and computer to earn a possible 28 points. Once you reach gold level(less than a month of being active) gift cards are discounted down to 475 points, which means you can redeem them for a $5 gift card. I recommend you check out my guide for earning through changing your search engine.

4. Perk -you can run videos overnight on a phone overnight. There are a couple of additional apps including some games that you can download to make more points. Possible to make as much as .40 per phone per day at best up to 5 phones per account(multiple accounts per household allowed) just from watching videos. $2.50 possible per day. $12.50 possible per week. Gift cards available through amazon and others starting at $1.00. Can redeem for paypal. They also have a quiz, word search and other apps.

5. Ibotta -scan in your receipts and redeem cash back on grocery and other purchases. Sign up with to get a sign up bonus! You can redeem through paypal or gift cards.

6. App Trailers -watch videos and make points. 10 points= $.01. Lowest cashout is 100 points. Pretty straight forward, you can link this to your perk account and cashout easier. Max devices for this app is 5.


7. Inboxdollars -watch videos, search and do surveys to earn points. Payout is by check or prepaid card. It's a steady amount with watching and has a desktop version as well. Easy to make .50 a day on here.


8. Rewardable TV- watch videos to make points 10 points =$.01. Cashout for paypal or gift cards. How I made 80+ a Month In My Spare Time With Swagbucks

Trying to save money can be difficult, and sometimes you just don't have time for another job. I was poking around on Reddit and Facebook trying to find ways to make extra money and I ran across a site called Swagbucks. Me and my wife have made over $1200 in gift cards and PayPal from Swagbucks alone.

Much of the following guide comes from information I learned from reddit.com/r/swagbucks. I am a regular contributor on the SubReddit there, and use it daily to share tips I learn and to take advantage of tips that others have found. I have taken their guide and edited it extensively to add in some of my own personal experience to share with you.

This guide is meant for U.S. users. U.K, Canada, and users from other countries may not find the same exact experience.

Before I begin I want to show you my proof of payment, because you may be questioning if this is really a legitimate site and how much can actually be made on this site. If you follow these ideas you really can make this much, and there are people who make more.

To the right is a list of all of the gift cards/Paypal payments I've received in the last few months. So far by myself I've redeemed over 400 dollars in gift cards, my wife has redeemed over 200 dollars in gift cards/Paypal from Swagbucks. This is a long guide, but I think you will find that it is very helpful. This guide is meant for beginners. If you are not a beginner, check out my advanced guide.

Starting off:
Go to Swagbucks.com  

1.Provide the needed information including the same email you use for paypal if you want to be paid that way and use the Sign up code “RSWAGBUCKS” which is optional, but it will give you 70 free SB. 

• The box to type this in doesn't show up unless you click “I have a sign up code (optional)” which is under the “Confirm Password” Box.

There's also a $5 sign up bonus if you earn 2,500 SB within the first 60 days of membership. (This can be done easily by completing a couple of offers)

2.Just signing up will give you 4 SB. Now complete your profile, learn how you earn and Discover your rewards. That will give you 32 SB. This part is pretty self-explanatory. You can skip the tour, this rewards no SB.

3.At some point, verify your account through your email, sooner is better than later.

4.Hover over “Answer" on the Swagbucks Bar at the top of the screen. Click on Surveys. Fill out the info to give you surveys better targeted toward you. Earn 1 SB for entering your age/gender and 1 SB for entering your birthday. Earn 2 SB for every 10 Survey Profile questions you answer (these are found on the right side of the screen).

5.Install the SwagButton to receive 50 SB. The Swagbutton will notify you of swag codes(explained later) and other opportunities to earn. It is a safe browser add on, and I would encourage that you use Swagbucks with the Chrome browser for the best overall experience.

6. Start navigating through the pages down on the bottom left you will see a few items to check off. Your daily goal is listed in the top middle of the page between invite friends and the swag code box. This is important for free passive SB. More on this later.

7.As you earn you should know 1SB is approximately equal to $.01. 

8.The lowest payout is about 200 SB for an $2 Ebay gift card. The lowest redemption for Paypal is 2500 SB for $25 in Paypal cash. There are often discounts on gift cards, and once a month you can redeem a $25 gift card for 2200 SB. There have been recent additions including Steam cash. They do not do Disney gift cards yet.(though you can buy them using Target gift cards)

Daily activities and To-Do List: ~ at least 630 SB per month Bottom left side of the screen

1.Daily Poll- 1 SB, self explanatory

2.Deal of the day- 1 SB, Click on the link on the bottom left, it credits instantly. You do not have to actually complete the offer.

3.Daily Crave- 1 SB, Wait for it to check off, then click whether you like it or not. sometimes you will have to click whether you like it, and others you may have to make sure you click play on a video. You can keep craving and earn more through this. If you don't want the extra noise I recommend you mute the tab(this will not affect your earnings).
4. Watch- at least 1 SB this can be done through mobile watch, toolbar tv or by watching a playlist.
5. Search- at least 4 sb Search through Swagbucks to earn a search win. These are random, but if you just search a few times each day, you will get a search win. Use my guide here for more details on earning with search.
6. Deal of the Day- cllick on the link in the to-do list, it's worth 1 SB. Sometimes these offers can be amazing, so check them out. 

7. Answer- at least 1 SB. Attempt a survey and you'll get credit here
8. Discover, complete one offer to get this one completed.
9. Not actually on the list, but a definite thing to do. Play- 10 SB, play Swagasaurus Run or Swag Jump Score is irrelevant, lose and repeat. I prefer Swag Jump. It takes 2 times of playing to be credited 2 sb and you only have to hit about 4 jumps before falling for it to credit. This can take about 5 or 6 minutes to complete, but I recommend you do this while having a watch playlist or NCrave going.

Mobile Dailies (6 apps, 60 SB + Extra): SBTV, Entertainow, Moviecli.ps, Sport.ly, Indymusic.tv and Lifestylz.tv

Each of these has daily limits, however you generally get a chance with each app at earning bonus SB past the normal daily limit! Remember it generally is better if the bonus is more than 14 videos to move on to the next app until they are all done. 

1.Swagbucks tv- 10 SB: [iOS] [Android] (reduced to 10 as of February 16, 2016)

• You get 2 SB per 6 videos watched. Go to the “Home and Garden” category. Favorite “10 Sec Tip-Grass Stains or any "10 Second Tip" video by holding down on the video then selecting "Add to Favorites". Let these videos auto-run by watching them from your “Favorites.” This will take about an hour. You will know you have reached the maximum amount for the day when “You reached today's earning limit. Please keep watching!" shows up. You can now watch longer for a chance to earn bonus SB past the normal 36 SB limit if it is available.

2.Entertainow- 10 SB: [iOS] [Android]

• This app works the same as the previous, however it pays 2 SB per 15 videos watched. The shortest videos are under the category “Tv Spots.” I favorited “Touch.” This is the only one you will want to favorite since it is the shortest. Go to your “Favorites” and watch these till you reach the Daily limit or watch longer for a chance to earn bonus SB past the normal 10 SB limit.

3.Moviecli.ps- 10 SB: [iOS] [Android]

• It pays 2 SB per 15 videos watched. The shortest video is "The Other Woman" (with the hat) at 25s. Go to "Favorites" and watch until you reach the limit or watch longer for a chance to earn bonus SB past the normal 10 SB limit.

4.Sportly.tv- 10 SB: [iOS] [Android]

• It pays 2 SB per 15 videos watched. The shortest video is "Bizarre Sightings- Laughter Yoga" at 26s. Go to "Favorites" and watch until you reach the limit or watch longer for a chance to earn bonus SB past the normal 10 SB limit.

5.Indymusic.tv- 10 SB: [iOS] [Android]

• It pays 2 SB per 15 videos watched. The shortest video is "Love is All Around by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts" under the Rock section at 30 seconds. Go to "Favorites" and watch until you reach the limit or watch longer for a chance to earn bonus SB past the normal 10 SB limit.

6.Lifestylz.tv- 10 SB: [iOS] [Android]

• It pays 2 SB per 15 videos watched. The shortest video is "10 Sec Tips - Grass Stain Removal" under the "Garden" Channel. Go to "Favorites" and watch until you reach the limit or watch longer for a chance to earn bonus SB past the normal 10 SB limit.

Can't find the shortest video? Check through THIS LIST for the next shortest. The videos cycle, so make sure to check back later to see if there is a shorter one.

Passive Swagbucks: (Now this is Awesome!)

So you know all of those things that you already do above? Look over at the Daily Goal Section at the top of your screen between refer and earn and swag code.

1.If you reach the Daily goal (which can normally be reached solely through the apps) you will get bonus SB and it will count towards your “Winning Streaks.” Your daily goals will increase with the more that you earn. There are some people who have reported daily goals of over 600! This grants you at least 10% of your daily goal as your monthly bonus. You must redeem your monthly bonuses manually now before the 15th of each month or they will disappear.

2.The Second goal or “Total Goal” gives you more bonus SB, but does not have to be reached in order to count toward your “Winning Streaks.” It does however guarantee you a larger bonus at the end of the month. 

3.Winning Streaks:

• Meet Daily Goal 7 days in a row.............. 25 SB Bonus
• Meet Daily Goal 14 days in a row............ 100 SB bonus
• Meet Daily Goal 21 days in a row............ 200 SB bonus

Additional Ways to Earn If You Have Time

1.Swag Codes- usually around 2-4 SB which are posted on their social media sites. Codes are posted quickly on/r/swagbucks and Twitter. Some codes have to be put into the swagbutton, and will be listed as such.

2.“Earn 2 Swag Bucks” and other offers that are sent to your SB Inbox. Some can be watched 2 or 3 times each.

3.Hourly Random Winner- 1,000 SB: Various Swagbucks Hourly Winner Notification Methods via IFTTT

4.Encrave: Auto watches videos for you. Found through Watch tab->Encrave->One of the boxes with the Replay symbol in the corner. Click the Discovery Mode button so there is a check mark to auto play. You may have to "unlock" the Encrave videos each day by doing 1-2 of the Encrave articles first. May not be available in Canada and the U.K.

• Tip: Use this when watching youtube/Netflix/Tv or whenever you are AFK(Away From Keyboard)

5. Surveys are a great way to make some quick cash, you won't qualify for every survey, but just take your time and answer honestly. Do not depend on surveys, as they can very suddenly fill up or disqualify you. If you have specific questions or issues, I have found the support to be fairly helpful with such issues.

6. There are many offers in discover, I cannot tell you which ones will work and which ones won't. I often check the swagbucks subreddit and the Swaggernauts Facebook group see which ones people have posted there. I recommend doing offers in incognito mode on Chrome, especially lifescript offers.

If an offer doesn't credit within the specified time period, contact customer service, they are very good at getting back to you. You can also contact customer service through their Facebook page. If you are trying to get 1 or 2 very quickly Swagbucks to get to your daily goal, I recommend Peanut Labs and Radium One. Sort by lowest payout for quick offers.

If you just do the mobile apps, play and the daily activities(poll, daily crave, NOSO) you can easily make about 80 SB a day.

I recommend you check out the Facebook and Reddit groups dedicated to Swagbucks. Some of these people have made thousands of dollars using Swagbucks. You will see daily tips on the best ways to earn.

Advanced Tips For Earning With Swagbucks

If you're like me you have things to do, and are always trying to make the most out of your time online. I have found a way to earn a lot with minimal effort with Swagbucks. While for me I've been doing this while job hunting, this could easily be done while paying bills, watching Netflix, doing homework or just surfing the web.

I always try to make sure that I reach my first daily goal every day if possible, as this becomes an additional 600+ SB per month between the daily goals adding up and the monthly bonus for getting all 31 days. Don't worry too much because there are also bonuses for hitting smaller marks like 7, 14 or 21 days. By using the different tips I have in both of these guides you should easily make both goals every day.

The mobile apps are crucial to earning quickly and in the guide I outlined before there is great explanation on how to get the most out of the apps. I wanted to add another tip though. I bought a couple of cheap pre-paid phones from Kroger for $10, which allow me to run apps on them, including the Swagbucks TV apps, in order to earn money and not tie up my own personal Smartphone. You do not have to pay for a plan; just set it up on your home wifi and run the apps mentioned. A weekly published list of the best phones available can be found here. Just click on "cheapest devices of the week."

I mentioned NCrave and Watching videos before. I use 3 tabs at all times for Swagbucks, I recommend you mute them all, as it makes no difference to earnings. In the first tab I run watch. You only have to watch these videos until the check mark.(generally 40 seconds or so)

On the second tab I run NCrave which can be found under the watch tab. I recommend using Chrome for this. You will have to check back often, to advance it, but remember if you're moving away from the page, you can only do Ctrl+Tab(or Ctrl+Shift+Tab) to move away, and your mouse must be on the main part of the screen, otherwise the timer will not count down. Early in the year is a little tougher to get good amounts on these, but later in the year you will be able to get much higher amounts through Ncrave. This used to be easier and more automatic. Instead of always doing this, check under sponsored videos, I recommend the all you can eat and the guy with a laptop for 2 sb. Both can add up quickly.

The third thing I do is toolbar tv. You can technically play this from the Swagbutton, but I find it easier just to start from here. These playlists often require you to click on each new video, but sometimes will auto advance. 20 videos equals 3 SB. You only have to wait for the bar to advance to click on the next video.

Shop and earn. Swagbucks will pay you a percentage of what you spend on certain sites including Amazon, Ebay, JCPenney, Groupon, Living Social, Kohls, Walmart, and many other sites. Some sites, including Amazon, will limit the items the cashback will apply to.

Discover can be a big benefit in earning. This section includes hundreds offers from 1 SB to thousands. From my experience not all of these pay out. If you have issues I recommend you make sure you have proof (take a screenshot by using "printscreen" and saving the image) and contact support about these issues. Make sure you know the amount for the offer, and who it was through (popular ways to earn, Peanut labs, Radium One, etc.)

Surveys can be found in the Answer section. I try to finish at least one 50 SB survey every day if I can. These can be discouraging, though, as you can get disqualified or they can fill up quickly. If you run out of gold surveys you can always do more under Peanut Labs.

Always be on the lookout for swag codes, they are posted almost daily, most can be found on Facebook.

I encourage you to check out the Facebook group that has over 20,000 members and the subreddit for Swagbucks to get extra help. Offers that credit are posted there on a daily basis.

You can have multiple people in the same household with accounts on Swagbucks. Me and my wife have accounts, and I use one of the phones for my apps, and she uses one for hers. It is against their terms of service to have more than one account per person, so don't even try it.

How to Earn Gift Cards and Cash By Changing Your Search Engine

If you don't have a lot of time, but want to make money doing something you already do, consider changing how you search.

The first site I would suggest you start with is Microsoft Rewards (through Bing). Bing gives you 5 points for every searches from your computer you perform (150 points a day) and bonus points for completing quizzes and other simple tasks. 10 points is equal to about $.01. You can also earn bonus points and do an additional 20 searches for 100 points on your smartphone every day. With a few extra tasks this adds up to about 28 cents per day and takes  me 2-3 minutes max to complete. A tip for doing this quickly: just go to Bing's home page, and at the bottom there are a series pictures of the top news stories of the day. Click each picture until the stories are done.

This also helps you keep up to date on the major stories of the day as well which is pretty nice. I find it easier to try to set a specific time each day and just knock it out very quickly. I don't recommend making this your default search engine, as you are limited on the number of searches you get credited for. Amazon gift cards start at 550 for $5 (475 once you reach gold status). In an earlier post I mentioned how good Swagbucks is at making additional money. If you make Swagbucks your default search engine, every now and again you will get a search "win" which will give you anywhere from 5-15 SB ($.05-$.15) and more during bonus times each month. I normally can get 1-2 search wins a day which over a week can really start adding up. One of the secrets I use is that I search the major sites I visit every day through the default search engine, and then save the search results pages as bookmarks. Each time I go to visit those links it's an additional search. Think of every time you open up your email, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Netflix, maps, Youtube, etc. is a search you could be performing and earning money on.

Just today alone I've already made over 20 SB ($.20) just for going to the sites I visit normally every day. You can learn how to default your search engine to Swagbucks here. Swagbucks pays out in gift cards (as low as 300 sb for $3 gift card) and PayPal (2500 for $25 sent to your PayPal account)

I have tried a few other sites, including GiftHulk and Inboxdollars, both of these can be easy and consistent to use, if you know what you are doing and are both worth trying out.

Gifthulk prefers that you don't do repetitive or continuous searches. Payout for searches is instant and can be quite good. So if you search 5 or so times a day it's a quick way to earn a bit of money. This site has a good amount of other offers, surveys, and a good watch that can help you bring in money on the side. Also make sure to do the daily guess a card. Make sure to sign up with my referral link for a bonus!

Inboxdollars requires that all searches are new, and gives you a bonus for doing searches 4 days a week($.05). They only pay in check, which can be nice the payout threshold is $30. With a referral link, you get $5 just for signing up! Additionally you get paid emails which net you .02 per email you confirm.

Overall these sites can really start adding up. I get at least 2 $5 amazon gift cards per month from Microsoft Rewards. With Amazon's subscribe and save we have been able to pay for some of the basics we need every month using Amazon gift cards. The cost is fairly comparable on the major brands. If you're a college student, this could be a way to pay for some of your books, or dorm needs. Bing also has other gift cards including  Xbox Live membership, Hulu membership,  Gamestop,  and Microsoft store. Get Cash Back on Your Groceries Through Ibotta.

When you're looking to save money, getting the most for your cash is a must. One way I've learned to maximize my money at the grocery store is to use Ibotta. So let's get down to the details of what this site does. Right now is a great time to get started as it will give you $10 for using a referral link to sign up.

What it does: ibotta has a good selection of redeemable products, and is probably the easiest of this type of app to get started with. Rebate categories in the app (required) range from groceries to flights. I have only used it for groceries, but if you shop at stores with more expensive items, the instant rebates can be higher. ($5+)

How to redeem:

Find the product you’d like and redeem the rebate in-app by either: learning a fact, watching a video, taking a poll, or looking at a recipe (all directly from the app, ~5-20 seconds).

Buy the product at any supported store.

Scan the product barcode and take a picture of your receipt. It's really that simple. I find that it is easiest to do this as soon as I get home, so that I don't forget. This app works for me at all of the big box stores, but not always at specialty foods stores. Any brand items can mean huge savings, but don't generally qualify you for bonuses. 

Profit.

Other ways to earn: Shopping online by first going through the ibotta website (to be honest though, I’ve always found that Swagbucks and Ebates give much better percentages for cash back). 

You can also invite Facebook friends to be part of your “team.” The more team members you have the easier it can be to unlock bonuses(if your friends are already on Ibotta, it will connect you to them, and you will help each other with bonuses), which is the last facet of earning on ibotta (signing up does not in any way put us on a team, they are for when you invite your FB friends only). Bonuses are simply things like “buy vegetables twice in a month for an extra $1” or “Get an extra $10 to your account when your team’s total savings in a month reaches $40, or redeem 5 rebates this month, and your team redeems $20 total.” There are multiple levels to this, so the more you do with this app, the more you can get back

Payout: $20 minimum on Paypal  for cash, or $10 for giftcards for anything from Amazon to iTunes.
